About Me

So many women struggle to find balance between caring for others and investing time in themselves.  I have a passion for working with women to help them discover what they most desire in life and what are the obstacles that hold them back.

I have been an LCSW for over 20 years.  Throughout my career I have worked with women facing all kinds of challenges- relationships, life transitions, self-esteem, career struggles, parenting stress.  I specialize in helping the women I work with find healthy ways of navigating these challenges and find balance in their lives, using a combination of cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques (primarily through an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach).

As your therapist, my goal is to empower you to find balance in your life, joy in your relationships and compassion for yourself.  I believe you have the answers and my job is to give you the tools you need to cope better with stress and negative self-talk as well as discover how to make room for what is most meaningful for you in life.

In my practice, I have a few “specialty” areas that I focus on:

*relationship issues

*life transitions

*self esteem

*parenting stress

*mild to moderate anxiety

*mild postpartum depression or anxiety

(I do not specialize in depression, trauma or couples therapy and am happy to refer you elsewhere if these are the issues you are seeking treatment for).

As a therapist my goal is not only to support you, but to empower you with skills to help you in all aspects of your life.  I do not use a “one size fits all” approach- together we will look at your strengths and challenges and find creative ways that will help you thrive.  My approach is direct, collaborative and goal oriented.

I received my Masters of Science in Social Work in 1998 from Columbia University and am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado.  I have completed additional coursework in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
